The Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Party (EPRP) has alleged that government security forces killed at least 19 civilians in Ethiopia’s Oromia Region.
According to a statement issued by the party, the incident occurred in Andode Dicho kebele, Gida Ayana woreda, East Wollega zone. The statement claims that Oromia Regional Special Forces carried out indiscriminate attacks on civilians, resulting in the deaths.
The party further reported that on Saturday, December 27, two civilians were found dead with stab wounds. In addition, the statement alleges that 562 houses, businesses, and warehouses were burned down. At least 29 motorcycles, three three-wheel rickshaws (also known as Bajajs), and other machinery were also reportedly destroyed.
Residents told the party that security forces have been arbitrarily arresting individuals and carrying out indiscriminate killings in the area.
